BLOG: Turn Your Greatest Setback into Your Greatest Setup
Terrible things happen. Tragic, unthinkable things.
It may not seem like it at the time, but there is purpose in all experience.
I realize that what I’m saying might receive backlash from those still stuck in the midst of their storm; but take heed that this, too, shall pass. When you are on the other side, you will remember my words.
The wisdom I have gained through becoming a trauma graduate has given me the confidence to share with you today. Those same scars that were inflicted, and remained invisible for so many years, are now the very fibers that fortify me.
Perseverance under trial requires maintaining a mindset of success that is unrelenting. Eliminate all defeatist thoughts from your mind. Focus all of your energy on positive thoughts in faith.
Faith, love and the emotion of sex are powerful and elevate one’s magnetic vibration level.
It is easy to get caught up in the negativity of the moment.
Yet, amidst the chaos of life, there are exceptions. There are people who are defying all odds stacked against them. They are breaking barriers, achieving greater heights, and making an impact.
These exceptional people share 6 commonalities.
- They move on. They don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves.
- They embrace change.
- They stay happy. They don’t waste energy on things they cannot control.
- They are kind, fair, and unafraid to speak up.
- They are willing to take calculated risks.
- They celebrate and support other people’s success.
They also have one essential tool in their toolkit to live life: They have trained their mind to see only the positive in every situation, turning life’s setbacks into their next setup.
Listen to the still voice within that reminds that we were uniquely created with a divine purpose, a masterpiece in progress.
Exercise – Practice Shift Perspective – Mindfulness Writing
Step 1 – On a sheet of paper, I want you to write, “When I reflect on my relationship with…I feel… Now write for 4 minutes of time.
Step 2 – On the same piece of paper just below, write how the person you wrote about in Step 1 would respond…Now write for 4 minutes of time.
Step 3 – Close your eyes take deep breaths; notice how you feel.
Step 4 – On the same piece of paper you just wrote on, now I want to you to write from the perspective of a wise being, someone you respect and who you purpose to emulate – What would be their guidance…Now write for 4 minutes of time.
Step 5 – Close your eyes take deep breaths, focus your mind, and listen for the voice of the wise being you wrote about in Step 4. Listen intently for what the being whispers in your ear. Once you have got it, let it sink in.
