Module Progress:

Module 3 – Mindful Rapport

In this Class: Mindful Rapport

Rapport requires learning.  Learning about how you interact with others based upon your model of the world; and how others communicate both verbally and non-verbally with you during an interaction.  If you desire to faciliate transformation in others, it is key to your practice to become keenly aware of all that is transpiring in an exchange.

Mindful intentional behavior that is introspective, as well as projective is essential. Remember we pursue both the psychology and physiology of excellence and model it to elicit the same from our client.

Effective communication is based on emotional intelligence; how well one can identify behavior in others to promote optimal response.  To the contrary misunderstandings result.  There are various strategies that can be used such as clarifying language, asking specific questions to elicit the person’s mode of operating or their employed strategy in a particular situation etc.

Physically, we can match or model behavior to provide subtle affirmation of acceptance without judgement.

Rapport building can take time.  However, an effective information gathering system that provides data for analysis and interaction equips one well to meet the person seeking help where they find themselves; and provides direction for further specific observation, to learn how the individual may perceive the situation through their model of the world.
